Do you still smoke. Think about this.
Cigarette smoking still causes about three in ten cancer deaths in the U.S.
Even though smoking rates have dropped by about 50% since 1965, more than 160,000 people die each year from smoking related cancer!
Besides lung cancer cigarettes cause cancers of the mouth, nose, larynx and esophagus. It is also implicated in cancer of the stomach, pancreas, liver, kidneys, bladder, cervix, colon and rectum.
These figures do not include cancer deaths from second hand smoke or from cigars, pipes and smokeless tobacco. Also remember that smoking causes more deaths from cardiovascular disease than from cancer.
