Should You Limit Your Cholesterol From Food?

Conventional wisdom for years has been that it is important to limit eating high cholesterol foods such as eggs. Newer research has found that this is no longer necessary and in fact might be detrimental because you might miss out on important nutrients.

Saturated fat in your diet has has a much greater effect than ingested cholesterol on your blood cholesterol level  . This is why the new dietary guidelines no longer recommend a maximal cholesterol intake. They do advise keeping the amount of saturated fat you eat to no more than 10% of your total daily calories.

The bottom line take away message is. Give up your guilt when you order eggs for breakfast. You need the nutrition.
