How To Improve Your Sex Life

It would be difficult to find anyone who would not like to spice up his or her sex life. We Americans are usually looking for a quick and easy solution and the answer most often is to look for a performance enhancer. This has become a multi million dollar business. You can hardly watch a sporting event on television without being baited by an ad for one pill or another. Our advice is to look in another direction. For the time being forget about the pills. Let's begin with you.

Take a long hard look at your life. Do you look as good as you would like to look? Do you feel as good as you would like to feel? Do you have the energy and enthusiasm for life and love that you really would like to have? If your answer to these questions is yes we suggest that you consider changing your lifestyle. We like to use an analogy that is easy to relate to. If you have ever had a car with an old battery you have learned that you can charge that old battery, but you know that it will not hold that charge. If you want a battery to last and be reliable you need to get a new battery. Similarly you can  put a little spark into your love life by taking a pill or some potion, but it will be a temporary spark. It will quickly go out and it will never start a fire.

In our books and in our wellness programs we have one expressed goal. It is to help you balance the three key energies of your life  in order to bring you back into balance and to develop dynamic energy.

Dynamic energy, These are two very powerful words, but what do they mean. What would it mean for you to have dynamic energy? What would it be like to have a boundless enthusiasm for life, to flow through your life without tiring and to enjoy life to the fullest with your cup overflowing? Do you think that this would also spice up your sex life?

Decrease Your Risk Of Dementia

Meditation is an important component of the TriEnergetics program. Do you meditate? If you do not we suggest that you begin a program of meditation.

There are many reasons to meditate. Regular meditation will calm your mind and help you to better handle the stress in your life, It will lower your blood pressure, reduce anxiety, enhance your immune system and help you sleep better.

There is another reason to meditate and this is a reason that is new to us. A recent publication from UCLA  compared the brain scans of people who meditated with those who did not. it was discovered that those who meditated had a smaller reduction in brain grey matter than those who did not.

This suggests that meditation helps preserve the brain tissue that is involved in memory, decision-making and sensory perception. In other words it seems as though meditation helps prevent dementia. This information was not known when we wrote our book, but we were certainly ahead of our time. Our chapter on meditation has the subtitle "how to become healthier by sitting quietly and doing nothing."

We believe that here is no better way for you to spend time then by sitting quietly meditating.

You can learn some simple techniques from our book Trienergeetics.

How To Live Longer

One health tip to live longer is this. EAT LESS! You may have doubts because this seems to be to easy, but here is some clinical evidence. For example the Journal of Gerontology recently published a landmark study. 218 people ages 21 to 50 were assigned diets. Half of them ate whatever they liked and half were told to cut calories by 25% At the end of the two year study the low calorie group lost an average of 10% of their body weight. Of greater importance there was an average blood pressure drop of 4%, total cholesterol drop of 6%, and a 47% drop in C-reactive protein.

C-reactive protein is an inflammatory marker linked to heart disease and other illnesses. The conclusion was that just reducing your caloric intake is a key to living well and longer. Try it yourself and let us know if you notice any changes in your body.

A New Sex Drug For Women

In August the FDA approved Addyl to treat hypoactive sexual desire or lack of libido in women. Unlike Viagra, which addresses the physical issue of erectile dysfunction in men, Addyl tweaks the brain's mix of dopamine and serotonin, It must be taken daily and may take two months to be fully effective.

The results are not impressive. Only 10% of the women in the trial had a marked response and there were significant side effects. The critiques of its effectiveness and side effects have triggered discussions about desire and what triggers it. This may lead to more new drugs for lack of libido in the future. We will keep you informed.

A New Treatment For Parkinson's Disease

Dr. James Parkinson first described the shaking palsy in 1817 a  collection of symptoms that we now call Parkinson's disease. Now some 200 years later this disease that affects one million Americans still has not been cured.

There are some treatments such as L-dopa and surgeries such as deep brain stimulation that help manage the symptoms, but all attempts to stop or reverse the disease have failed.

There is new research on a simple protein alpha-synuclein that points to a possible break through.
The working theory is that alpha-synuclein forms sticky clumps called amyloid that jump from brain cells to brain cell killing cells. This is particularly true for nerve cells that make the neural transmitter dopamine. When 70% of these dopamine cells are destroyed the patient starts displaying the symptoms of Parkinson's disease.

Researchers are working on a number of alpha-synuclein busting agents. Several of them will begin clinical trials in the next few years. If given early enough such agents might prevent the development of Parkinson's disease. Of course this  treatment may not pan out, but that is the natural course of research. Never the less it is an exciting concept. We will give you updates as they develop.

This Is The Way To Eat Healthier Now

We have been suggesting ways for you to change your eating habits in order to improve your health and lose weight. If you have been  following some of our suggestions,  we hope that your have noticed increased energy and positive changes in your body.

If you had been eating a SAD (Standard American Diet) high in refined flour and saturated fats. A major change would have been switching from products made with refined white flour to those made with whole grain flour.

Now if you have made the switch, the next step will be to add more whole grains such as brown rice, oats, wheat berries and millet

Foods such as these are considered to be whole because they contain the entire kernel and provide a variety of nutrients and fiber that are essential for your health. They also taste good and will add variety to your menu.

Improving your health is not difficult if you make changes one small step at a time.
